One of goals Project AWAYSIS is to bring economic growth to the community. The vision is that Project AWAYSIS will bring more businesses people to the community while also bringing in more visitors who will utilize what the city has to offer. Since Project AWAYSIS is near the lake, a link from the central business district to the Project will be made with specific lighting, trails, monuments, and community gardens.

           

With the new demands put on the retail community in Storm Lake and Buena Vista County it becomes necessary to make a clear and decisive connection between the project site and the central business district as well as other community retail hubs. Project AWAYSIS includes Phase 1 of a four phase project that will create visual connections for all types of transportation options to and from the retail community of Storm Lake and Project AWAYSIS.

           

This connection will include period style lighting along the existing Storm Lake Lake Trail and the continuation of the lighted trail up Lake Avenue to the central business district. The connection will also be marked with landmark monuments that tie into the project. Additionally, community gardens may be planted at key intersections to provide a visual focal point.
