If the great outdoors is what visitors to Storm Lake enjoy they can probably be found staying at the Sunrise Campgrounds and Cabins. Sites will be transformed by developing more campsites, and changing the design of the campground. The campground is also available to the people of Storm Lake who want to stay the night in the outdoors.
Built in 1967, the beautiful Sunrise Campgrounds offer a great view of the lake while also filling many campers’ needs. In 2002, the City of Storm Lake upgraded the electrical components of the campsites, but with such a great demand for campsites, expansion and renovations will be made to the campground under Project AWAYSIS. A linear design instead of the current horse shoe design will maximize efficiencies, increase the number of lake view spots, and the number of pull through spots. With such changes, the Sunrise Campground is sure to attract many more campers.
