In order to offer the visitors and community members a scenic way to see the attractive county, the Buena Vista County Drive Trail was created. Using paved roads, gravel roads and signs to direct the sightseers, they will see various sights ranging from public wildlife areas, Buffalo Ridge Wind Farm, golf courses, and surrounding Buena Vista County communities.
As part of Project AWAYSIS, the trail will initially include 2-3 informative kiosks at different key points along the way. These kiosks will provide interactive information for visitors about the designated locations such as the Buffalo Ridge Wind Farm. Each kiosk will then relate to information and exhibits at the future Storm Lake Environmental Interpretive Center.
