Area C (the indoor water park building) has been completely enclosed and is being heated. Crews are at work installing insulation and sheetrock. Exterior windows are being installed.
The restaurant walls have been framed; window installation will follow. It is exciting to watch this area of the building come together—the views of the lake from the restaurant are just terrific.
Inside the hotel building work continues—sheet rock, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling. The second and third floors of Area A are ready to be painted.
Work continues in Area C with insulation and sheetrock installation, painting the ceiling and electrical and plumbing rough-ins. This work needs to be complete in the next two weeks as the slide manufacturer will be back at the end of the month to start installing the indoor slides.
Painting of door frames, ceilings and some walls has begun in Area A. Vinyl wall covering is on site; hanging will begin soon.
The new Senior Center is progressing well. Taylor contracting expects to finish by about mid March which will then allow relocating the Senior Center there.
Bill Gavin has been hired as the General Manager for King’s Pointe. Bill has about twenty years experience in the hospitality industry and has managed and worked in several that feature a high level of customer service. We’re very happy to have Bill here and believe that his experience and professional approach to management will be instrumental in the long term success of King’s Pointe. Bill started about 10 days ago and will be moving his family here soon. If you get a chance, please give Bill a big Storm Lake welcome.
The indoor water park building is being sheet rocked and the roof deck is being painted. This work is slated to be completed this week to allow the aquatic contractors to move in to begin work on the indoor pool.
Stone work, split faced concrete block and siding continues outside.
Inside is more of the same: sheet rocking, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling systems, painting and wall paper hanging.
We will hold pre construction meetings this week with contractors for the Great Lawn, playground area, bio retention areas and the beach. Expect to see work start there as weather allows.
The deck on the east side of the clubhouse has been started. Painting has begun inside.
Some of the indoor slides arrived this past week and installation will begin this coming week. Watch for the large enclosed slide to emerge from the west side of the slide tower. Should be exciting.
Work in the clubhouse is coming along well and should hit the targeted completion date of March 30. Painting of the bar/pro-shop area continues. The new ceiling in the meeting hall will go up this week.
Sheet rockers have now moved to the first floor of Area B; about half of the ballroom has been completed. Work on the mechanical and electrical systems feeding the restaurant continues.
The fireplace in the lobby was framed in this week. This will create a very warm and cozy environment in the lobby area.
