5/19/2006 Some of the first work to begin and certainly the most visible work to be done this shows the lower level of the filter room which when completed will be completely underground.  The footings for this building are laid out like a grid on the ground.	5/192006 Close up of the grid work for the footings showing the rebar that helps to maintain stability of the concrete once poured.  The white rubber looking strip running through the rebar is a water stop that prevents water from getting in or out of the walls when the sections are poured in two sections.	5/26/2006 In this picture crews are loading a concrete funnel that is hoisted above the work by a crane to enable workers to get concrete into places where the cement trucks can’t reach.
5/26/2006 Workers shown in this picture are working on the forms that will eventually help create the concrete walls of the filter building.	5/26/2006 This picture shows the activity going on around the filter building.  The walls in the background of the picture are going up on the south and east side of the building while other crews are bring in more rebar to help form the steel support structures for the footings of the building.	5/26/2006 This picture shows crews using the concrete funnel to direct concrete into the framed and ready to pour footings of the filter building.
5/26/2006 Once the crews have poured the concrete into the footings additional workmen begin the process of tedious hand work to make sure the concrete is finished correctly.	5/26/2006 This picture shows one side of a wall form for the filter building.  The holes cut into the filter building walls will be fitted with pipes to hold the place prior to pouring the concrete for the walls.  These pipe placeholders will enable crews to bring the pipes into the filter building without having to cut through the walls.  The filter building holds all the mechanical components for all three pools and therefore has over 30 different pipes coming into or out of the building.
