Good progress was made this week on the exterior walls of the indoor aquatics building. This is a most important task to get this area enclosed before any bad winter weather. Hopefully this will be completed in the next 1-2 weeks. Roof insulation was installed last week.
Crews are working inside heated enclosures installing stone to the exterior of the lodge building. One area on the north side of the east end has been completed and uncovered. We think the color of the stone fits nicely with the two colors of siding to provide a rich, warm look.
Inside is a bee hive of activity with the various tradesmen doing their specific work. It takes a great deal of coordination between the various trades to be sure that the work of one doesn’t hamper or impeded the work of another.
The last sections of the lazy river are being poured. Weather permitting, this should be complete this coming week.
The last section of the Lazy River was poured this week. All of the concrete work is not complete on the outdoor pool and outdoor waterpark.
A portion of the floor in the restaurant was poured last week; this should be completed this week with walls and windows to follow.
Exterior siding and stone work continues. As these activities progress we all get a better idea of the ultimate look of the building.
Work progresses on the clubhouse renovation: the new handicapped accessible ramp on the east side was poured last week, installation of the mechanical system is in progress and work in the pro-shop area continues. Hopefully the roof on the addition on the west side will go on this week.
The aquatics contractor has begun grouting the pool walls and floor. This process repairs all blemishes in the surface and results in the smooth surface we are all accustomed to in pools.
Work continues underground in the filter building. This building is packed with piping, pumps, filter and electrical conduit. It is a huge job to set up all of this mechanical equipment. Work will continue here right up to opening day.
The sheet rocking and taping on the third floor of Area A (east end) is complete and nearly ready for painting. Progress continues in all other areas on plumbing, electrical, mechanical and dry wall installation.
Beginning next week the inside of the indoor aquatics building will be jammed with contractors. Electricians, plumbers, painters, insulators and dry wall installers will all be working in there in addition to the aquatics mechanical contractor. Work will begin installing the decorative concrete block on the exterior.
Another important week lies ahead as we will be taking bids for the construction of the beach, great lawn, playground area, bio-retention areas, parking, landscaping, trails and Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment.
The roofing on the addition to the clubhouse was completed. Windows were installed and the siding is nearly finished. Inside, work continues on the electrical and plumbing rough-in work. That project appears to be on schedule.
The concrete block exterior on the indoor pool building is being installed as well as the framing for the soffit. Inside, the birthday deck has been built and the roof over the bathhouse is complete. Next week, insulating and sheet rocking will begin.
Walls for the restaurant were begun last week; the floor has been completed. A great deal of activity inside the lodge building as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, insulating and sheet rocking continues. Outside, stone work and siding continue.
