Storm Lake Iowa Project Awaysis

The water park is going great guns. Through the first 15 days of operation, attendance has exceeded 14,000 people. Everyone seems to be thrilled with the facility. If you haven’t seen it, stop by for a free tour.

Work on the indoor water park is progressing well. All the concrete work has been finished; the large play structure has been installed, painting will begin this week. The climbing wall and sprayground will be installed this week.

The hotel parking lot will be finished in the next few days, then work on the beach wall and playground wall will ramp up.

The administrative offices in the hotel are nearly completed. Some staff will move from the temporary office to these offices this week.

The remainder of the kitchen equipment will be installed this week. Walk-in coolers and freezers will be operational this week.

We hope to have the golf course open for play by around mid July.

Whew! The pace is fast and furious as we come down the home stretch toward completion of the hotel and indoor water park. Finishing touches are being completed in the lobby and restaurant; guest room furniture begins arriving Monday morning; the indoor pool has been painted; staff training will begin in earnest this coming week.

The new dock was put into place last week; the wave attenuators will be placed in the next few days.

Sunrise Pointe Golf course is open and getting great reviews from players.

Work progresses on the beach and Great Lawn area. The walk around the playground has been poured and equipment will arrive on August 13. Crews will start pouring the lake trail next week.

More next week.
