Mother Nature put a crimp in the work progress this past week. Most of the work is occurring inside but workers were largely preventing from getting to the site on Thursday and Friday.
The exception was the slide installation crew who is staying in town overnight. They have been able to work and as of this morning have the stairs to the slide towers installed and are assembling slide sections for installation. Watch for the slides to exit the slide tower in the next few days.
Installation of the indoor waterpark slides continues. One of these can be seen coming out of the building on the west side and reentering. This work will continue this week; look for the large blue slide to exit the south side of the tower soon.
Crews should be able to pour the concrete access ramp on the east side of the clubhouse this week. Thank you Mother Nature.
The contractor for the Great Lawn and beach plans to start moving in equipment this week. Their first task will be to remove some old cottonwood trees that are in the wrong place.
Be sure to check the ‘photos’ drop down menu above to see updated photos of construction progress.
Did you see the giant blue slide outside the west end of the indoor aquatics building? Looks great and like a lot of fun. I get lots of questions about whether it will stay warm enough in the winter. The manufacturer assures us it will mostly because there is warm water running through the slide continuously.
Inside the indoor building drains and piping are being installed.
The landscape block retaining walls on the south side of the outdoor pool and waterpark were started last week. This is a critical piece that needs to be finished so that the security fence can be installed before the pool is filled about May 1.
Lots of activity inside the hotel—painting, wallpaper, sheetrock, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning. Kitchen equipment is scheduled to start arriving this week.
The contractor for the Great Lawn and beach started last week with tree removal. As the ground dries and firms up a bit, look for more activity in that area.
The playground committee is meeting with the chosen vendor tonight to finalize the playground equipment plan. Once that is done we look forward to sharing the plan with the public. We think everyone will like what they see.
Landscape retaining walls are being erected on the south side of the restaurant and outdoor pool. This project will probably take about another three weeks to complete.
The clubhouse renovation continues to move along nicely—just fairly minor odds and ends to finish up. We expect to have the Senior Citizens moved in by about mid April.
The indoor slide installers have done all they can for now and will return to finish installation after additional work in done inside. Work began last week on the floor and walls for the indoor pool. It is amazing to see the amount on concrete and reinforcing steel that goes into a pool.
All the same work continues in the hotel with good progress being made. Kitchen equipment is schedule to start arriving this week.
We have nearly completed the process to select the playground equipment and hope to be able to provide renderings of the site very soon.
